Our designs are conversation starters.
Whether it’s on social media or in person, our statement pieces serve as a tool to open up a discussion, acting as a reminder to watch your environmental impact.
These conversation educate empowers our community to create change. This is what we are driven to achieve.
- Our designs are handmade and in our London, Tottenham studio using purely locally collected and upcycled single-use waste plastic.
- As a slow fashion and artwork brand, we do our best to make a positive impact on the environment. We create Jewellery and Artwork in small collections of x5-x20. Each piece is made one-of-a-kind meaning that you will never be able to buy exact duplicates of each item- making each item special.
- As a business, we create zero waste by working all offcut in future designs, consistently maximising the use of the recycled materials, leaving no waste behind.
- we hope that every person that purchases or receives our products should feel empowered and positively impacted in some way.
The journey of PLASTIQUE By Siân began over a decade ago with founder Siân Dorman, whose creative journey started in the world of textiles and costume design. After graduating from the prestigious University of the Arts London, Siân launched her first business in 2014—an edgy costume design brand where sculptural, wearable art pieces made from upcycled materials took center stage. From theatrical performances to music videos, Siân’s designs brought a gothic, avant-garde flair to life, using everything from metals and wood to plaster, textiles and her iconic waste plastic.
As her love for upcycling and sustainable art deepened, Siân began to experiment with accessories, turning leftover materials into bold, statement jewellery. What started as personal passion projects for friends and herself soon sparked a new vision. By 2022, PLASTIQUE By Siân was born—a vibrant and quirky sustainable jewellery brand. Now, instead of dark tones and varied materials, Siân transforms waste plastics into colourful, eco-friendly jewellery that embodies playful creativity and ethical craftsmanship. Every piece is a celebration of sustainability, proving that waste can be beautiful and fashion can be fun, bold, and bright!
The vibrant Gaunson Creative Studios in Tottenham has been the home for PLASTIQUE By Siân since 2019. Surrounded by over 60 talented artists, makers, and creatives, the buzz of inspiration is endless. Markfield Road is a hub of creativity, with Ten 87 music studios, live music events at Unit 3, and Moko's Club right across the way. It’s an exciting space to be a part of, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
In our cozy little studio, this is where the magic happens. Every unique, sustainable jewellery piece is carefully designed, from concept to creation. It’s where we experiment with upcycled materials, plan new capsule collections, and cut out our eco-friendly thank-you cards with our trusty Cricut machine. The studio is where we package every order with love, including hand-written notes for our wonderful customers. Every purchase helps support new sustainable artwork, ethical fashion, and a thriving small business.
Our studio is a space where we share our skills with the local community through private 1:2:1 sessions and portfolio-building workshops for students and independents. We’re passionate about spreading creativity and empowering others in our Haringey neighbourhood. And while we absolutely adore our current space, we dream of growing our space so that we are able to host our own in-house workshops right here in the studio—so we can offer more regular creative events to our customers!
This is where we even sneak in a little dance break (and plenty of coffee) throughout the day. Our studio is the place where we get to be kids again, pouring our passion and energy into everything we create.
