What are PLASTIQUE products made from?
All PLASTIQUE Products are created using 100% single-use waste plastics.
Where do you source your plastic waste?
The plastic used in PLASTIQUE products is sourced within the London borough of Haringey- where our studio is based in South Tottenham N15.
There are several ways the plastic is collected:
1). Founder, Siân Dorman does regular plastic requests either via a newsletter email or social media stories. Requesting for our local residents to save household recycling. Siân, then plans a route and collects these from those who respond.
2). We use the app 'Olio' or 'Freecycle' to request specific products needed for a collection and users of the app collect these for us here at PLASTIQUE. Again, we plan a trip and collect all materials.
3). Founder, Siân will collaborate with Haringey based litter picking groups and make use of items found on the pick.
4) Siân collects it herself on travels
5) We collaborate with local businesses to reduce their soft plastics and bottles and containers. This saves them money, and helps us and our small business.
What material the Jewellery findings made from?
PLASTIQUE earrings are 100% 925 sterling silver to suit the needs of those sensitive to other metals, unless requested otherwise.
At the moment our necklace cords are silver plated but we are in the midst of transferring to 100% sterling silver due to demand.
All information is clearly listed on the product descriptions section of the item pages.
DO YOU USE STUDS OR OTHER FINDINGS?
PLASTIQUE earrings are created using sterling silver hooks as a standard, but we carry a wide range of findings in the studio that we can easily replace your design with, studs are one of these.
We also keep plastic hooks and studs for those who have an allergy to metals.
Where are PLASTIQUE products made & who by?
All PLASTIQUE products are handmade by Founder Siân Dorman, in her London, South Tottenham N15 Studio.
All elements of PLASTIQUE are run by Siân with no other employed staff. We do however, hire freelance staff during busy times of year. We also occasionally take on interns.
All products are hand cut, designed and heat fused to create beautiful new pieces that you can dress yourself or your home with.

Caring for your PLASTIQUE product?
Jewellery products can be flexible as some plastics are, and will sometimes bend, fold or crease, but should easily bounce back into original form.
- Store hanging or laying flat to maintain shape and structure.
PLASTUQUE products should be stored away from constant sunlight- this is because direct sunlight accelerates the rate of plastic regeneration (like an old rubber band! brittle and crumbly).
Don't worry- this wont happen unless left hung at a window all year around.
Any framed artwork without a glass or perspex protective layer should not be hung in direct sunlight.
If you have any queries concerning the care of your items please do not hesitate to contact me at any point.
What is PLASTIQUE's returns policy?
You will have 14 days to return an item for refund or exchange on all products on our shop.
These refunds will be granted minus the cost of posting and a further £3 to go toward the replacement of findings to be resold.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON Customised and commissioned products*
ALL PRODUCTS MUST ME RETURNED IN THE SAME CONDITION THEY ARRIVED.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any issues
